Is each piece really one of a kind?

Yes! Each piece is hand-painted so no two are exactly alike. Please note, the color comes from a reflection of light and will vary depending on its surrounding light source.

Pieces in the One-of-a-kind Collection are created in small batches, but and then hand-painted with their own unique details. Once that piece is sold there will be no others made exactly like it. You can be confident that there isn't another piece like yours in the world just like there is no one else like you!

Lauren is continually creating new original works of art. You can receive early access to shop the new creations by joining the R&R Club.

We take requests for custom pieces or custom variations on a case-by-case basis. If you have specific requests we'd be happy to chat with you about what can be done, just email lauren@radianceandromance.com.

What does it mean when you say your pieces are hand-painted but there's no paint involved?

The magical process that creates color on the metal is called anodizing. Using electricity, a thin film of titanium oxide is created on the surface of the metal causing light to be reflected partly off the oxide and partly passing through the oxide to reflect of the metal. It's called an interference color and it's this same interference of light that gives some beetles and butterflies their colors. Lauren applies the electricity with different brushes creating a hand-painted effect even though there is no paint or pigments involved. You can watch the magic happen on our Instagram @radianceandromance.

The color is not a patina, such as what happens to bronze and copper. The colors are stable and won't change or fade over time. If you feel like your piece has gotten dull it probably just needs a gentle cleaning. Dirt and oil from our fingers can build up on the surface and block the reflection of light. See below for how to care for your piece.

How do I care for my jewelry?

A little love goes a long way! Handling your piece with care will keep it looking bright and beautiful for many years to come. When not wearing, it's best to keep it in a box or pouch to prevent scratches. The color can get scratched. Keep away from household chemicals or solvents and avoid contact with perfumes, hairsprays, and lotions. Remove jewelry before showering or swimming.

The color of your piece can get dull as you wear it due to dirt and oil built up on the surface. Not to worry! This is only the result of the reflection of light being blocked and is easily fixed with some warm soapy water and a soft cloth.* Depending on how often you wear your piece, we recommend cleaning it every couple of weeks or so to keep it looking bright and good as new.

*If your piece contains wood, be careful not to submerge in water and wipe only the metal part with a damp cloth.

Do you offer repairs?
